The level of care and attention given to each child attending Horizons is second to none
- McMenamin Family -
We have been a part of the Horizons family since 2013 when my eldest son Fionn began his Montessori years there.
From the beginning, we found Horizons to be a welcoming, warm, nurturing and fun space for him and that has only continued and been enhanced over the years as Cathal then spent two super years there before starting primary school.
Now our third son Oisin has begun his Horizons journey, and is already coming home full of songs and the tales of the day.
I have always been struck by how attuned the teachers and staff are to each child’s ways and needs. The level of care and attention given to each child is second to none and has really allowed my children’s personalities and abilities to grow and flourish.
My daughter will start at Horizons in two years’ time and I know I’ll be broken hearted when the day comes where Horizons is no longer part of my morning drop off or afternoon pick up! It is a very special place.
Horizons Montessori has provided the perfect start to the education of each of our three children
- Letch Family -
Horizons Montessori has provided the perfect start to the education of each of our three children.
In this caring and nurturing environment we have always found the staff to be extremely welcoming, warm people who are highly professional and genuinely enthusiastic about the children they teach and care for every day.
We are delighted with the range and standard of the educational material our children have used here and the diversity of the topics and activities they have had the opportunity to explore, from dinosaurs, to the solar system, to baking and yoga. We have often been pleasantly surprised to hear one of our children burst into a song over dinner (the Continents Of The World song is a favourite) or enthuse over a topic they learned about at school that day!
We are also really happy with the attention given to each child’s emotional well being. At Horizons the children learn to respect each other and be kind to one another. They refer to all of the other children in the school as ‘buddies’. The teachers at Horizons take the time to get to know each child individually and are always on the ball if there is an issue of any sort. Our older two children, now in primary school left Horizons well prepared to deal with the primary school environment.
All three of our children have been very happy here, our eldest two envy their younger sister who still attends the school!
They all benefited so much from the great start that Horizons gave them, very grateful
- Cyril & Deirdre Molloy -
I can go to work safe in the knowledge that our child will not just be cared for throughout the day but will enjoy soaking up the subtle learning that takes place here.
All of our children have passed through Horizons from the age of 2 and half through to leaving to start in primary school. They all benefited so much from the great start that Horizons gave them.
Each year at the Christmas play Fiona takes the opportunity to publicly thank her staff for their efforts in not just putting on the Christmas play but for caring for Horizons children every day of the year. And she is right to do it.
It is the staff of Horizons that keep up the exacting standards of care to the level that is expected every single day, and we are very grateful to all of them for the past 11 years.
I know that they will have fun with their friends and be in a kind, caring and loving environment
- Jennifer & James Falvey -
Our three children have attended Horizons Montessori and now avail of the after school service provided by Horizons.
They are collected each day from school and brought back to a safe and secure environment where any homework is completed and corrected.
More importantly, I know that they will have fun with their friends and be in a kind, caring and loving environment.
There is never any issue if we are running late and for working parents like us the after school service is an invaluable and cost effective solution.
The service also includes nutritional dinners and activities. I would not hesitate to recommend Horizon’s after school to anyone.
It would not be possible for us to overstate our appreciation of this great school
- Amanda & Michael Cronin -
Our son Alex joined the transition class in Horizons Montessori School. Since then he has learned, played, made friends and has been cared for in as warm a manner as any parent could wish for.
We are so impressed at the ability of Fiona, Olwen and the other teachers to nurture a love of learning in a happy, child-centered environment.
The information evenings and parent teacher meetings held throughout the year gave us a great insight into the Montessori approach to teaching.
We are amazed at how much Alex has progressed both academically and socially, and how independent he has become during his time in Horizons!
The classroom environment is tailor made in every way for ‘little learners’ to plot their own course towards achieving milestones that Olwen his teacher plans out for them.
The garden playground is a fantastic facility and the Christmas concert and seasonally themed parties all contribute towards creating a rich and varied school experience for children and parents alike.
It would not be possible for us to overstate our appreciation of this great school and uniformly excellent teachers. We would highly recommend Horizons for anyone who wants to give their child the best educational start possible.
We are looking forward to sending our younger son there and know he will love it and flourish in it like his older brother.
Thank you Fiona, Olwen and all the staff in Horizons for all you have done for Alex over the last year. We know he will always have fond memories of the time he spent there.
The Horizons teachers have provided a truly special learning experience in those very early formative years
- Louise Byrne -
I’ve had two of my boys through Horizons Montessori school, my elder boy who is now 11 and my little guy who is getting close to 4 now. Both have had and are having a terrific experience in the school.
What is truly unique about Horizons is how well the children are known and understood by all the staff. Many of the teachers who were there in Ultan’s time are still familiar faces today for Fiach.
The easy access to the teaching staff and the ongoing informal and formal feedback sessions gives us great insight into how our little guy is developing and growing on a daily basis.
The Montessori way of learning has been great for our kids and has allowed them to work at their own pace always supported by the close attention of the teacher.
There is a real sense of fun and calmness in the classroom with lots of excitement around the creative activities, plays, cooking, art, dance and the “garden” is a huge hit.
The Horizons teachers have provided a truly special learning experience in those very early formative years.

FOR PARENTS
FOR CHILDREN
At Horizons, as parents ourselves in our Montessori school, we understand what’s important to you, because it is also what’s important to us…
The founding Fiona's still work in the schools every day. This ensures that the educational experience of every child is managed to the same high standards every year.
We have strict procedures in place when it comes to child safety and security. Our staff are regularly trained on site regarding all aspects of prioritising your childs well being.
Our schools are open all year round ensuring child care availability for you beyond the ECCE or Primary School calendar. Our Summer Camp also runs during July and August.
Both our schools have soft Astro grass gardens which the children love. Weather permitting we spend as much time outdoors as possible to enhance the pupils experience.
Working parents can rest assured their child is availing of the best of care all day. And once they get to Primary we also have an after school care service.
We invest a lot of time in sourcing the best teachers. We ensure they have ongoing educational and development opportunities resulting in the optimum environment.
We collect children from the local national schools St. Pius, Presentation and St. Joseph's. In our Homework Club in Terenure College they have dinner, homework and activities.
From classical music to science experiments. Your child will be well socialised with a diverse range of materials and experiences creating a love of learning for life.
Our educational ethos is based on that of Maria Montessori who believed in preparing a child centred environment to learn independently through discovery and exploration.
