Horizons Montessori provides part and full time childcare programmes all year round.

We have two schools in Templeogue and Terenure.

Templeogue caters for Montessori Preschool ages and Terenure for Primary School children requiring after school care during term and on school holidays.

Our Templeogue school is in Cypress Park near Templeogue Village and our Terenure school is on the Terenure College Campus.

Horizons Templeogue is located in Cypress Park.

Here we provide ECCE and Part-Time Montessori for 38 weeks per year. And Full Day Montessori all year round.

Catering for ages 2 years 8 months to 5 years 6 months.

There are 6 classrooms and a large Astro Surface Garden play area.

TERENURE

Our Terenure school has two buildings on the Terenure College campus, The Clubhouse for Juniors and The Hub for Seniors. It has 8 classrooms plus a large Astro garden and access to grass pitches.

Here we provide after school pick up and care plus full day care for Primary school children all year round.

Horizons has been serving the communities of Templeogue and Terenure since 1993. This nurturing environment is based on respect. It encourages independence, creativity and friendships and enables children to reach their full potential.

At Horizons we are committed to providing an educational service of the highest standard. We are approved and accredited by the Irish Montessori Education Board (IMEB). We are also registered with Tusla, the child and family agency.

STATEMENT OF FUNCTION

Horizons is a privately operated school. It offers an education programme daily and a full care programme from 7:45am to 6:30pm 49 weeks per year suitable for working parents. We have a capacity for 82 children at our school in Templeogue and xx in Terenure. Our educational philosophy is Montessori.

OUR MISSION STATEMENT

Our mission is to provide a comprehensive Montessori education in a warm, nurturing environment, which considers the uniqueness of each individual child. Our aim is to develop within the child a true joy of learning, respect for each other and a willingness to actively participate in the world around them.

OBJECTIVES

At Horizons our ethos and practice values diversity and promotes equality.

We aim to select friendly, dependable, mature and professional staff through our rigorous recruitment and selection policy.

To ensure that the developmental, educational, emotional and social needs of each child are met daily.

The voice of the child is heard, respected, and contributes to our programme.

We aim to deliver a quality Montessori curriculum.

We aim to make Horizons accessible to all members of the community, regardless of race, gender, family status, age, disability or religious belief.

We are registered with Tusla, the Child and Family agency and also operate within the Irish Montessori Education Board registration.

Our environment is planned and well organised in a way that suits the different needs of individual children, while keeping in mind the importance of safety and hygiene.

Parents are actively welcomed at Horizons at all times. We endeavour to share information and communicate with parents directly, in order to give feedback at the end of each da. To ensure they are made aware of on-going developments in policies and procedurs.

Horizons understand the importance of good nutrition for a child’s physical and mental development.

For children who avail of any of our full day services in Montessori or Summer Camp, as well as Homework Club  attendees, the meals are provided by Little Dinners.

They are healthy meals provided by a specialist manufacturer based in Wicklow.

Little Dinners have created over 30 basic recipes, with variations for vegetarians and other special dietary requirements.

This results in a menu which provides providing the children with a balance of variety and familiarity.

We use Little Dinners because of their high standards when it comes to food preparation following the Dept. of Health “Food and Nutritional Guidelines for Pre-School Services”.

Special requirements based on parental preference, cultural or religious beliefs and health or allergy issues are catered for.

  • No artifical flavourings, colours
  • Made using their own stocks and sauces
  • All food ingredients sourced form HACCP compliant suppliers
